Adopt a stream to keep water trails clean
A new program called Illinois Water TrailKeepers hopes to adopt sections of water trails that they will help maintain. The program is a joint project of the Illinois Paddling Council and Openlands for Illinois Water TrailKeepers. The initial program, as reported by Bob Maciulis of the Aurora Beacon, will help maintain seven waterways in nine counties. That’s a total of 350 miles of rivers and includes the Fox, Kishwaukee and DuPage rivers. Workers will help report and remove log jams and other problems in the waterways. My Good Friend Randy's First Salmon
While I'm sitting here today thinking about the Chinook salmon season that is suppose to be one of the best in years, I find myself thinking back to my youth. It was back in the early 1970's when after talking with my best friend Randy that I discovered he had never fished for salmon before. I found this odd as our love of fishing had taken us on many different and exciting adventures while chasing fish every time we had a chance to take off and go.
