To me it felt like a workout effort (which I should do every day anyway), but rather than be on a treadmill or eliptical, I got to be outside in the woods! Now is working out my favorite thing to do? Planning the Women in the Outdoors Event
We're still working on planning the Women in the Outdoors event that I mentioned in this earlier post. Here's an update of how the process is going. One of the dates we selected will work for our first choice of the 4-H outdoor education camp. We chose that because a successful event has been held there before, it's centrally located, and it's on the water so that we can include water-based activities. To reserve the camp, we have to put a small deposit down. From what I understand, the actual initial money will come from one of the local NWTF chapters, and then we'll pay them back after we receive the registration money from the participants. The next step is a fun one - selecting which ...

Money Talks
Unfortunately, Politicians make most (in my opinion) decisions based on either keeping their jobs or money. For once this may help the sportsmen, as long as we make a point to let our elected officials know about the facts revealed in a report released by the Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation . The CSF sent a copy of this full report to all Members of Congress but I think that if we each sent our Representatives a copy it would do more good. The full report can be downloaded here . Some highlights of the report are: America's 34 million hunters and anglers directly support 1.6 million jobs. They spend more than a billion dollars a year just in license, stamps, tags, and permit sales. T...

Raw Apple Cake Recipe
Ok, so this recipe has very little to do with hunting, unless you count hunting for apples, or it being a treat to take on a hunting trip, or…I don’t know how else. I do have a recipe section though, one that has been neglected quite a bit. And, this is one of [...]
