Oklahoma Iceland

Ohio?s deer hunters performed surprisingly well
Ohio’s deer hunters performed surprisingly well during the first seven days of the gun-deer season, which ended Sunday, checking in a statewide bag of 103,195 whitetails. While that tally shows some slippage from the 111,672 from the same period in 2006, it is almost remarkable given a week of some of the worst possible hunting conditions. [...]

emergency whistle
Need an emergency whistle? The pith can be pushed out of the branches of elderberry bushes to hollow them out. These are often made into whistles by kids. Don't suck on them, though. Elderberry can be somewhat toxic. Don't put tents in the washing machine. It is too rough on them. You can wash it in the bathtub, but it may be even better to set it up outside to wash it. That way you can also let it dry properly. More backpacking tips .

Squirrel Hunting
One of the earliest types of hunting I got to do when I was young was squirrel hunting. In fact, a squirrel was the first animal I ever shot, if memory serves me right. It’s an excellent animal to break in new hunters on, since they are rather plentiful in most areas, and [...]
