GunTriever has a New Logo
© By Othmar Vohringer GunTriever, the product formerly known as GunSlinger, has now been given a new logo too. Kristine Shreve, Marketing Director of Gun Safety Innovations had the following to say about the logo change on her Hunt Smart Think Safety blog. ?Ladies and Gentlemen there was jubilation and joy (and perhaps a little happy dance to two) in the GSI offices yesterday afternoon. We have finally settled on a logo design. We decided to dispense with trying to do something that solely featured the GunTriever and instead based the new logo around our slogan: Hunt Smart, Think Safety. We are still toying with just having GunTriever rather than Git-A-GunTriever at the bottom of the logo...

HSUS Activists Torture Animal For Promotional Video
© By Othmar Vohringer Members of the Humane Society of the Untitled States (HSUS) were caught on video by Pro-seal hunt filmmaker Raoul Jomphe as they contributed for hours to the suffering of a badly injured seal for a promotional video. According to the Ottawa Citizen ??the animal rights activists pulled the dying seal out of the water as it tried to escape, and continued filming their promotional video. It is not known how the seal was wounded.? Raoul Jomhe said. "If I had been on the ice with my family and kids, I would have told them to turn around, and I would have killed the seal myself, because it was disturbing for me to see that." To me this is just another piece of evidence of ...

Tracking Basics - Understanding The Difference Between Tracking and Track Identification
Trackers, especially people who are new to tracking, get a bad rap if they can't identify a track. One of the biggest challenges for those who are learning to track is being confronted by someone who says, "What kind of track is that?" For some reason, people have the misconception that once learned, the skills automatically imbues the tracker with the ability to also identify what animal made the track.

Full Story on Lucky Bear
© By Othmar Vohringer This morning I posted a few pictures a friend sent to me about a bear that got himself into a spot of trouble on a bridge and had to be rescued. Since I did not had any data to go along with the pictures I asked the readers of my blog to let me know if they knew more about it? Trust the many blogging friends, Phillip from the Hog Blog provided me with leads in the comment section. I am particularly pleased that Phillip was able to tell me? Antis read and weep! ?that hunters took part in the bear rescue action. I goggled it and came up with the following information. The incident occurred on the Donner Memorial Bridge on Highway 40 west near Donner Summit on Sunday, S...

The Lucky Bear
© By Othmar Vohringer A friend of mien sent me the following pictures in the email. Unfortunately my source had no knowledge of where this dramatic bear rescue action happened. Deers Not The Only Meat----
Well folks the deer season has come and gone with the moment of anticipation passing like a dove flying across the field. Of coarse as with a raccoon in the corn field there's still many more seasons that are open and some that are open year round( at least in Tennessee). Hog hunting is open year round here and many hunters take advantage of this hunting experience to sharpen their skills for deer season and to put a little extra in their freezers. Though I've never hunted the wild hogs, I have given it some thought and my decide to give it a try one day in the near future. Squirrel season and quail season is still open so time allowed I plan on going before the season is over in February...
