| Last note from Alaska |
I don't remember his name, just what he said... A seasonal employee of the Alaska Department of Fish and Game is one of the crew operating a fish-counting station on the Nushagak River out of Dillingham, at the head of...

| California Archery deer opener July 12th |
Many of my archery cronies have asked me where I will be when day breaks on July 12th, the first day of the archery season for California’a A-zone Deer. Truth is, I’ll be in Marin county, but I will be gathering cattle for a friend and neighbor who is shipping his weaned calves that day. I’ll [...]

| Burning Down The Bank |
First, I really hate to tell this on myself and I guess you had to be there, but it was funny as hell afterwards. For the second time, the Civic Cente...

| My Apologies For A Virus |
It seems that somehow the Black Bear Blog picked up a virus that would redirect my traffic elsewhere. Technicians are working now to remove it. I also understand that the redirect worked pretty well with Internet Explorer browser and not so well, if at all, with other browsers. So if you have been trying to get [...]

| FLORIDA: Little Hits, Big Misses, Wildlife |
The thermometer in the rental car read 86 degrees at 7 in the morning, so I knew the canals were going to boil. So would anyone making the effort to walk them in search of fish. Peacocks like it hot, but I had a hard time getting anything but follows out of the bigger ones. [...]
