Just an Update
It's been some time now since my last post so this is just a little update. I 've been busy trying to help my parents with their place,working on my place, work, done alittle fishing, planted some food plots and going to the doctors for my health. There's just not enough time in a day to do everything you want to get done. I've tried scheduling things but something or someone always comes up needing me to help them or do something for them. Just the other day I got up at daylight went fishing a couple hours came in ready to work on my lawnmower and the wife tells me we have a water leak in the house, which come to find out was my water heater, which took me half a day to change out by the...

Apprentice Hunter License Program expanded SPRINGFIELD - Gov. Rod Blagojevich signed legislation expanding eligibility in Illinois' Apprentice Hunter License Program to out-of-state hunters. The Illinois Apprentice Hunter License Program grants limited hunting privileges to residents - and now non-residents - interested in trying hunting before buying a regular Illinois hunting license.

Illinois budget worries Pheasants Forever
Springfield—Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich recently unveiled a proposal to cut the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) budget by $14 million. Illinois Pheasants Forever (PF) and Quail Forever (QF) fear the cuts could severely hamper the IDNR’s conservation efforts and their ability to partner with conservation organizations. The dissipation of funds would result in a loss of 20 percent of the general fund budget for the IDNR, an agency that has already been stripped of 25 percent of its staff due to budget cuts and hiring freezes since 2001. “The IDNR is an absolute key player in a lot of the work we do here in Illinois,” said Aaron Kuehl, Illinois C...

Free upland game permit application
Click here to apply for one of Illinois free upland game hunting permits. Paper applications will no longer be accepted by the Department of Natural Resources as the agency continues its changeover to an all-Internet existence. You will, however, still need to cross your fingers and possibly even pray if you want to be drawn for a permit in this very popular lottery.
