Dennis and Linda Take on The Lehigh Valley SCI Banquet
My wife and I attended the LVSCI Chapter's Annual Fundraiser Banquet on March 14 & 15th which was held at the Holiday Inn Hotel and Conference Center in Fogelsville, Pa. This was our first experience with an SCI event. Congratulations went out as it was announced that the Lehigh Valley Chapter Safari Club International attained ranking as the Largest Chapter in the World!!!! Friday & Saturday there were silent auctions as well as live auctions both having great items to bid on. The outfitters were in another location with some of their trophies displayed and were available to talk about their experiences. Spring spectacle: Migrating snow geese in South Dakota

Who is This Jr. Blogger?
Who is this very serious little girl that is now a professional blogger? We have very deep discussions about what she should blog about and what is funny. Suddenly there are lots of phone calls and emails to make sure she is putting up a good post and she wants to link and learn who all my online friends are. Prescribed Burns Help Turkey Habitat
EDGEFIELD, S.C. --Wildlife managers know the use of prescribed fire as a land management tool is an excellent way to improve wildlife habitat. However, each spring wildlife biologists hear the fears of concerned hunters who don't understand that prescribed burns in March and April -- months generally known as wild turkey nesting months -- are far more beneficial than harmful to wild turkey populations. Black bear permit applications due May 2
Hunters have until May 2 to apply for a black bear license for the 2008 fall hunt. A total of 11,850 licenses in 11 permit areas are available, said Lou Cornicelli, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) big game program coordinator. The season begins Sept. 1 and ends Oct. 12.

Apply now for MCC summer conservation work program for high school youth
Minnesota youth ages 15 to 18 who are looking for a unique opportunity to develop and strengthen leadership and camping skills while understanding and appreciating the natural environment are encouraged to apply for the Minnesota Conservation Corps (MCC) Summer Youth Program. Applications for 90 positions are being accepted between now and April 25.
