Burglary at Vacant Commercial Property on Golf Road
Arlington Heights police received a report about 3:45 p.m. Wednesday of a burglary to vacant commercial property in the 0-100 block of West Golf Road. A vacant commercial property was forcibly entered. The property holder called police to investigate and search the property for an offender still on scene. No offender on scene.

Battery on Armstrong in Buffalo Grove
Buffalo Grove police received a report about 1:15 p.m. Wednesday of an injured battery victim in the 100 block of Armstrong in Buffalo Grove. A victim was bleeding after being attacked by a roommate at the residence. Buffalo Grove police are investigating.

Monster crappie out of Kinkaid Lake
Anglers at Kinkaid Lake are buzzing about two near-record fish caught already this spring at the southern Illinois lake. The latest is a monster crappie caught by Mike Zimmer of Waterloo (pictured abvove). Zimmer caught his 4-pound, 5-ounce crappie out of Kinkaid on a chilly March 15. The fish, believed to be a white crappie, is just two ounces short of the state record. The Illinois record white crappie weighed 4 pounds, 7 ounces and was caught by Kevin Dennis in a private pond in Morgan County on April 8, 1973. “It was unbelievable,” Zimmer told Rod Kloeckner of the Belleville News-Democrat. “It’s probably like catching an 8- or 9-pound bass or a 70-pound flathea...

Michigan fishing report 3-24-10
LANSING, Mich. (AP) - With spring fishing just starting, anglers age 17 and older are required to have the new 2010 Michigan Fishing License by April 1, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Environment said. Steelhead fishing remains good on most major river systems, while bluegill and crappie action is picking up and the sucker runs are under way, the DNRE said Wednesday in its weekly recreational fishing report.
