| Illinois fishing report May 8-15 |

We’re going to keep this simple. Now is the time to go fishing. Crappie are biting well from one end of the state to the other. Bass are spawning, done spawning and set to spawn but are biting well at many lakes. White bass are still good in rivers. Bluegill are moving shallow. Muskie are more active. Channel catfish are good. Flathead catfish are starting to show up in southern Illinois. Walleye are still biting in the north. Smallmouth bass are moving up into creeks to spawn.
